What is general accounting?

General accounting is the branch of accounting that chronologically records all of a company's financial transactions in order to produce the required legal summary statements: balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. In Algeria, it is governed by the SCF based on adapted IFRS standards.

Financial Statements Produced

  • Balance sheet: Snapshot of assets at a given date.
  • Income statement: Measurement of performance over a period.
  • Cash flow statement: Analysis of cash inflows and outflows.
  • Notes to the accounts: Additional information on methods and significant events.

GestiumERP automatically generates all these statements from daily entries. Consult the accounting department organization guide to optimize your process.
